The verses found here have behind them the two major influential figures mentioned in my profile; namely, Rudolf Steiner and Owen Barfield. But since my retirement from teaching I have, for the last four or five years, begun a daily reading of the Bible under the guidance of the local Christian Community, which sends out a list of weekly readings at Advent Time for the coming year. Where these readings have been the stimulus for a verse, I have given the Bible source under its title. The form of the verses themselves came quite naturally. They have rhythm, rhyme and in the majority of cases, a simple concluding rhymed couplet in which a summation is attempted. Additionally, I’d like to say my intention is to start another blog where will be found many verses and a few plays I wrote over the years for the children of my Waldorf classes. When it’s completed a link will be found on this present site for anyone interested in this material. If you find among these verses one or two you would like to share, by all means do so. It would give me much pleasure to know they are being read in larger circles. It came as a great surprise to find that after posting for just two weeks, people from Europe, Alaska and the Ukraine had found their way to the site! Please leave a comment if you so will. I will try to reply.
